Part Teacher. Part Nanny. Whole Heart.

Hi, you! My name is Korrie. (I get a lot of compliments on the spelling and I always say "Thanks. I'll tell my mom." And I usually really do.) I graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Elementary Education and iSTEM (integrated science, technology, engineering, and math.) I always thought I would be a traditional, classroom teacher, but here I am, teaching and caring for kiddos out in the world as a nanny.
I love that nannying gives me the opportunity to plan my own activities with the thought of specific children's needs in mind. I love that I truly know the children I'm caring for. But, what I love the most is that the world has become my classroom. Lessons unfold throughout every day life, in places that may seem unexpected. Every walk, book, activity, and playground can offer an opportunity to learn and grow.
I have experience nannying new borns to 4 year olds and I have teaching experience in Kindergarten (5 year olds) to Third Grade (8/9 year olds).
I have also coached 5 year olds - 16 year olds in competitive soccer leagues and was a collegiate soccer player myself.
When I'm not nannying, coaching, or playing soccer, you can find me writing and illustrating children's books. I'm an active member of the #Kidlit community and am passionate about how books influence a child's life. Reading, writing, and drawing are a HUGE part of my life. (Check out my author/art instagram here!)
With my background in science, sports, and art I feel comfortable helping to mold well-rounded, driven children. I put a lot of thought into each day's activities and am willing to research the classes, programs, and resources provided for children in their community. Pinterest is my best friend and I am always up for a project. I am athletic and energetic, so keeping up with kids is a piece of cake. (Though, I usually am exhausted at the end of the day. How do they do it?)
Oh yeah... and I love my cats.
