Splash Parks For the Win!

Our local splash park.

NK and I used to do pool days regularly in the summer. It was fun, but let's be real, no nanny wants to show back up to NF's house with soggy hair and damp clothes from a rushed swimsuit change. Plus, this summer we have a new edition to our little clique: an infant little sister.

Now, I am super confident in my swimming abilities. I have my CPR and First Aid certifications. And I KNOW never to take your eyes off a child around water. However, no matter how prepared I could possibly be, there's no way I wouldn't be in a constant state of stress while trying to juggle a toddler and an infant, alone, in a pool. So pool time definitely wasn't going to be our every day move like it was last summer. (My heart can't take it.)

Just in time, our neighborhood, like so many other cities around the country, installed a splash park. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT. I can give NK2 a bottle while NK1 plays. I don't have to get my hair wet! (Don't have to... but did when NK1 dumped a bucket of water on my head yesterday -_-) I don't need to change! And most importantly, when I don't have to be on edge about the kid's safety, I can truly enjoy our time together.
